This is a powerpoint on animal adaptations. I included lots of graphics, explanations, and a application questions. Definitions, types, and examples are discussed. Different animals (with sound effects) are discussed with adaptations.
The following is discussed in the 29 slides:
Definition
types - physical and behavioral
many examples of each
help to survive
adapt to environment
mimicry
chemical defense
Instinctive and learned behaviors
migration
hibernation
and examples of learned behaviors
This is a powerpoint on potential and kinetic energy. I included lots of graphics, explanations, and a quiz. There are many examples and demonstrations of potential and kinetic energy. Real-life situations such as, roller coasters, football, baseball, etc. are included to keep the students interested. It also briefly explains the 7 types of energy: chemical, light, heat, electrical, nuclear, sound, and mechanical.
This powerpoint on ecosystems discusses definitions, gives examples, and allows students to apply what they have learned to questions about ecosystems.
The ppt discusses the following:
Definition of ecosystem
Types-forest, desert, ocean, rainforest, mountain, and swamp; examples are given of each
Abiotic/Biotic (definition and examples)
Population/Community (differences between)
Questioning about population/community
Carrying capacity/space
Examples for students to interact-Enough space?

This is a 28-slide powerpoint on science safety. It contains responsibilities of students and teacher, general safety concerns, safety rules and symbols, "What's wrong with this picture?", "What's wrong with these statements?", and the safety contract.
Also, look for the study guide and test listed separately.
This is a daily/weekly math warm-up or math game. It includes instructions, ideas on how to use or change the rules, worksheet, and reproducible pages. Students will enjoy this opposed to the same old warm-up sheet. They will become very excited and competitive!
*When you purchase the activity, the download will be correct. For some reason, the pages (pictures and text) are not being shown accurately.
This test is on science safety in the classroom. It goes along with my powerpoint and study guide that is listed separately.
It has true/false, short answer, multiple choice, and fill in the blank answers.
It covers responsibilities, rules, symbols, and scenarios.
This powerpoint explains the definition and causes of sound. Pictures are included for examples as well as an explanation. The following is covered:
sound waves
crest
trough
wavelength
amplitude
loudness
ears
outer, middle, and inner ear
diagrams of how sound travels through the ear to the brain.
My last slide is a joke page on sound. The kids love it!
This powerpoint contains information about heat. The following is discussed:
sources of heat
friction
thermometers
reading thermometers
conduction
convection
radiation
insulators
conductors
physical changes from heat
chemical changes from heat.
This water cycle comic strip activity promotes active and critical thinking. They will be able to demonstrate their understanding of of the water cycle in a simple and interactive way. Sstudents see it as a fun and interactive learning experience rather than just another assessment. It includes the rubric for easy grading and the instruction sheet giving detailed directions for what is expected. A premade comic sheet can be found on my product page for purchase.
This powerpoint gives information on the following:
Producers/consumers
Herbivores
Carnivores
Omnivores
Decomposers
Each is defined and many examples with pictures are given. A "test" is given at the end that allows students to work in groups or individually. If you have an interactive board, students could choose the answers. Feed back is given for correct and incorrect answers.
My students always enjoy this PowerPoint!
I also have a study guide that the students can follow along with
This study guide goes along with my ecosystem powerpoint. It allows students to follow the ppt and find missing information on the study guide. Teachers may use this during the ppt or as a review after the ppt. I sometimes break it into multiple lessons.
*Don't forget to get the powerpoint from my store.
This study guide follows along with my PowerPoints on "Relationships in an Ecosystem" and "Food Chains and Webs."
It works great as a step-by-step guide as you work through the PowerPoints.
Both PowerPoints and study guide usually takes 2 or 3 days to complete.
This study guide correlates with my animal adaptation powerpoint. Students fill in the study guide while discussing each slide. This helps upper elementary students prepare for note-taking in the upper grades. The students can preview the study guide before seeing the ppt and know what to expect. I usually take 2-3 days for discussion and completely filling in the entire guide.
*Check out the powerpoint in my store.
This PowerPoint contains information about food chains and webs. It will define and give many examples of the following:
Food Chains
Producers/Consumers
Herbivore/Carnivore/Omnivore
Predators/Prey
order of the food chain
Types of food chains
Food Webs
Endangered/Extinct
Harmful things to a food chain
Caring for ecosystems
There is a study guide that follows this PowerPoint and a test that can be purchased separately. The PowerPoint, "Relationships in an Ecosystem" also goes along with the st
This PowerPoint explains the difference between physical and chemical changes. It gives many examples with pictures, many with animation or video. The last page of the PowerPoint has a joke page related to matter changes.
This powerpoint covers solids, liquids, and gases, physical and chemical changes, and examples of each. There are 18 slides with animation and sound effects. Most slides have interactive links to demonstrations and videos. At the end of all my powerpoints, I always include a joke page. The kids love them!
This is used with our interactive math notebooks. It gives the students an excellent visual on rounding up or rounding down. The students will glue the numbers on the correct side of the roller coaster as guided by the teacher. I am not sure why the preview has the roller coaster overlapped, but the download will be correct. If there is a problem, just contact me and I will send any corrections.
This is a study guide for science safety. This goes along with my powerpoint and activities that you will find listed separately.
This has been adapted for fourth grade, but can be used for third through fifth. (Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum SI-E-A7, GLE 13)
