I have over seventeen years teaching experience across a wide range of levels and courses. I have taught all levels of French from beginning language with high school students to advanced college-level classes on French and Francophone literature, film, culture and history. Additionally, I have taught beginning Spanish and worked with the AVID program. I continue to work regularly with a National Board Certified EL teacher and her classes to create high-impact materials for the ELL classroom. In all of these classes, my focus is on creating an active learning environment with student-centered activities. I want all of my students to come away from class loving the material and feeling energized and inspired. My teaching experience extends to food studies based on my doctoral research on French gastronomy and food culture.
