This interactive activity is a fun way to begin a new unit on averages. Students work in table groups to figure out the mean, median, mode, and range for the following: * Colors of M&Ms (Using the small, "party-size" M&M packets!), * Buttons on their clothing, * Pencils they have, and * Their choice! Individuals, partners, or table groups can decide which variable to calculate.
