This can be used as a whole group or center activity.
Students will choose a popcorn piece with an adverb written on it. They will place the popcorn on the correct popcorn box. Included are:

Students look at the pair of clocks and write the time below each one. They have to figure out how many hours/minutes have elapsed from the first clock to the second clock.
Since elapsed time is a difficult concept for young children to grasp I would recommend using this for a small group or student pairs.
Copy the kite and kite tails onto colored construction paper. Students write long i words on the kite tails and attach them to the kite with yarn or ribbon. Makes a colorful wall display.

Students write long a words on flowers and glue them to the back of a paper vase. There are four different styles of flowers included. You can copy them onto different colored construction paper to make a colorful display.

Copy the pitcher onto different colored construction paper. You can leave the ice cubes white or copy onto a light blue paper. Students write long u words onto the ice cubes. The cubes can be glued to the pitcher, or you can use yarn to have them hang from the spout.
