This assignment was created to be used in conjunction with the documentary Blackfish; however, it can be used with any nonfiction text or film. It's a short writing assignment to help students better write paragraphs for argumentative research papers. Ideally, it should be used before students write a full essay. I found this approach particularly useful with my seniors because many of them were not confident writers. By breaking the paragraph down into manageable steps, my students were demys
