My teaching philosophy is to inspire students to go beyond the classroom. As a veteran French teacher at Tuscarora High School (THS), I strive to create a multimodal learning experience that incorporates technology and authentic exposure to content. This encourages students to be metacognitive learners whose goal is progress, not perfection. I often use the phrase “productive struggle” when encouraging my students to persevere. It is my goal that my French students think critically about the products and perspectives of French and Francophone culture, making connections to their own lives.
