1-LS1-2 I suggest using "It's a baby_______" series for this project. The students can fill in the information after reading and taking notes from at least five books about baby animal's and their mothers. The last page is for their own mother or grandmother.

This is a fun, first day of school activity that teaches students how to act in science class. Can be used in a non-science classroom.
