This is a unit circle I created for students to keep as a reference. It has the special right triangles that can be rotated around the circle. I have guided notes that go along with this (listed separately). We spent two days putting this unit circle together as an interactive lesson.
Riddle worksheet solving for missing sides of right triangles using mainly trig ratios (sin/cos/tan). There are also some pythagorean theorem questions and special right triangles questions mixed in. 2 sided worksheet with 29 problems.
These guided notes go with the my unit circle template. Students will label all the parts of the unit circle through discovery, Also included is a lesson on what a radian is and how we get our radian measures on the unit circle.
This is a riddle worksheet working on rewriting equations in slope-intercept form from standard form and then using slope and the y-intercept to graph the line.
These are guided notes for a geometry circles unit. Topics include:
circle vocabulary, finding arc measures, angles in and out of circles, finding segment lengths, the equation of the circles, deriving equations of circle by completing the square, finding arc length, and finding area of the sector. Notes are scaffolded to help students build understanding, and many of the concepts are built through discovery and investigation.
A helpful tool for students. This is a reference sheet that students can use to solve right triangle problems. Includes trig, Pythagorean Theorem, similar right triangles, and special right triangles.
These are guided notes that will explore the meaning of a radian and how to use this definition to find the angle measures on a unit circle. Special right triangles are used to find the coordinates on the unit circle. Included is the interactive unit circle that was used in conjunction with the notes. This included movable special right triangles to help students identify coordinates.
Factoring worksheet that includes practice with: factoring out the GCF, factoring x^2 + bx+c and ax^2 + bx +c. It is a riddle worksheet, which will allow students to check their answers. There are also distractors in the answer choices which will force students to think about the signs and to remember to include the GCF as part of their answer.
This a short project that students can work on to help them build their understanding of transformations of a parabola. Students will take real life parabolas and use DESMOS find the equation of the parabola. Step by step instructions are included from how to create a Desmos account to how to submit on google classroom. Great for an algebra 2 class.
A venn diagram for quadrilaterals. One is filled out ready for your students use as a reference and there is also a blank copy for your students practice listing the quadrilateral properties.
This can be used as two separate worksheets or as one. A riddle worksheet that offers students practice in writing linear inequalities in slope-intercept form and then graphing them on a coordinate plane.
