Teaching style

A lifelong learner and passionate advocate for the arts, I am committed to inspiring people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to explore, trust, and elevate their artistic voices.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am also an award-winning children’s book author, using storytelling to educate and promote a global appreciation for the art of movement. My children’s books, Jocelyn Learns to Dance and How Feelings Move, have earned two Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council Grants, the Firebird Book Award, the Golden Wizard Book Prize, and an honorable mention at the Paris Book Festival. My books have been translated into French and Spanish, and have reached audiences in Jamaica, Rwanda and France.

My own education history
