Experience

I’ve taught in Title I elementary schools in East Tennessee, working with students in Kindergarten through 4th grade. I know firsthand what it’s like to juggle diverse learners, limited time, and high expectations, because I’ve lived it. Today, I teach at the university level as a professor, supporting and preparing future teachers. Every resource I create is rooted in real classroom experience and current best practices, with the goal of making your teaching life just a little easier.

Teaching style

I believe in organized, routine-based instruction that creates a safe and predictable learning environment. Clear expectations allow students to take risks, build independence, and grow academically. While structure is a priority, learning is never boring. I value engagement, movement, and joy in the classroom, paired with high expectations and accountability for all students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

• Served as a teacher leader within my school district • Mentored and supported fellow teachers • Currently teach and supervise student teachers at the university level These experiences shape the practical, classroom-ready resources I create.

My own education history

I graduated from Milligan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Youth Development and a teaching license in Elementary Education. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Alabama. My education supports my focus on intentional planning, effective instruction, and strong classroom foundations.
