Joseph Soccoa

Hi! I’m Joe Soccoa (or as my students would say Mr. Soccoa), and I’ve been proud to work in the New York City Department of Education for nearly 10 years, including 5 years as a classroom teacher. Over the years, I’ve learned that the best resources are the ones that make learning both meaningful and fun—not just for students, but for teachers, too. My goal is to help fellow educators by creating materials that make curriculum easier to teach and more engaging for students. I design all of my resources with a video game mentality—because that’s where kids are today. By blending academic rigor with game-like elements, I aim to spark curiosity, build problem-solving skills, and keep students motivated from start to finish. When learning feels like an adventure, students are more likely to stay engaged, take risks, and retain what they’ve learned.
