Stoichiometry practice - learning the factor label method

Created by

A simple worksheet that steps the students through the process of using the factor label method to solve stoichiometry problems. This works well as a guided lesson in class, but can be assigned as a stand-alone product as well.

About the store

Experience

I first started teaching in Gallup New mexico. I taught Biology and Earth science at an alternative high school from 2005-2008. I then moved to Mount Shasta CA and have been teaching Chemistry, Anatomy, and General Science since 2009.

Teaching style

Hands on and experiential. Students learn by doing and experiencing. I have always loved exploring and figuring out why things are the way they are - I try to bring that into my teaching. I try to use a lot of analogies to daily life and teach the logic of why things are the way they are.

My own education history

BA Environmental Studies - Warren Wilson College, Swananoa NC Masters secondary education - Western New Mexico University

Additional biographical information

I am the son of two teachers - so it was in the genes I guess. I grew up in rural Massachusetts spending as much time as I could in the woods. I went to college in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina, and again - spent lots of time in the woods. Out of college I joined the Peace Corps and was in Panama for three years working on water sanitation - clean drinking water through gravity fed water systems and composting toilets. I met my wife in Panama, as she was a volunteer at the same time as me. We returned to the States and moved to Gallup NM, where I got into teaching. In 2008 we move to Mount Shasta to start our family, and have been here since.
