Students research a chosen skin disease (options included) and create a presentation. If you want the Google Slides template I made for students, it is free in my store.
I use this as a culminating activity to finish my Mendelian genetics unit. Students must use the provided information (genotypes and phenotypes) along with their knowledge of Mendelian Punnett squares to determine the celebrity parents of three "babies."
This project asks students to work together to create a life-sized poster of at least two organ systems that work together to support essential life functions of the human body. Students will create a poster that accurately represents their chosen organ systems providing explanations for how those systems work together. Feel free to contact me for an editable version should you need it.
Use this activity to help students understand the difference between abiotic and biotic factors in ecosystems. 7.EC.5A In all ecosystems, organisms and populations of organisms depend on their environmental interactions with other living things (biotic factors) and with physical (abiotic) factors (such as light, temperature, water, or soil quality). Disruptions to any component of an ecosystem can lead to shifts in its diversity and abundance of populations.
This project is used as an extension for the respiratory system unit to allow students to further study diseases and disorders of the system. Feel free to message me for an editable version!
This lab activity is simple to use in your classroom! Students measure their lung capacity using balloons and rulers and use a graph to compare their averages to the class's averages. Feel free to message me for an editable version!
This choice board allows students options in discovering more about soil texture, permeability, and horizons. SC 7.EC.5A.2 Construct explanations of how soil quality (including composition, texture, particle size, permeability, and pH) affects the characteristics of an ecosystem using evidence from soil profiles.
I use these graphs and analysis questions in stations/centers as a review throughout the year after focusing on constructing and analyzing graphs in the beginning of the year.
I created this activity for my students to work on their argument writing skills quickly while covering a state-specific standard. Feel free to message me for an editable version!
I use this activity as a review before our unit test. Students match eleven organelles to three cards: their function, a picture that represents an analogy for that organelle's function, and a number on a diagram identifying the organelle in either a plant or animal cell. I use different color paper for each of the four cards per organelle. Includes an answer key.
This is a science-based DBQ I have written and organized for my district. In addition, to informal argument writing assignments/pieces throughout the year, I assign one science-based DBQ per quarter.

Using the KidsHealth How Your Body Works video series, I wrote this video viewing sheet using the Cloze procedure. Students will need to watch the video (linked in the document) to be able to complete the sentences.
This digital resource assesses students' understanding of abiotic and biotic factors within ecosystems. Students will create a digital poster that identifies abiotic and biotic factors and explains their relationship. SC 7.EC.5A In all ecosystems, organisms and populations of organisms depend on their environmental interactions with other living things (biotic factors) and with physical (abiotic) factors (such as light, temperature, water, or soil quality). This is a collection of various cell organelle analogies for your students to use to practice learning the functions of organelles by making comparisons. This activity is best used in stations or rotations. Feel free to message me for an editable version!
This document accompanies the Bloodmobile song by They Might be Giant. Students complete the statements as they listen to the song. Feel free to message me for an editable version!
