Introduction to Python Lesson 2 - Data Types & Arithmetic Operators FULL LESSON

This is the first lesson in my Introduction to Python Programming unit of work. It covers what a computer is, what an algorithm is and why they need to be written carefully. Each lesson in the unit also comes with a short quiz which can be used to assess progress and also to introduce an element of competition to the lessons. There are two options for the tasks, page 6 is a general version, and page 7 is an alternative that could be used at the end of Year 6 when discussing starting high school. For a web quest, the students should be provided with links to the websites listed in the pack. The activity could also be extended by asking students to research another type of penguin, and using the additional cover page found on page 30 of this pack. I have provided you with a number of versions of this flip book, which are listed here,

Teaching style

I have a flexible approach to teaching, which I can adapt depending on the level and personality of the student. I would discuss my approach with all students to find out the best approach for them.
