•Just a quick way to to check for letter/sound recognition and beginning sound recognition. Aligned with KIndergarten unit 1 letter introduction.

Print the mug on brown construction paper and cut it out. Have students glue cotton balls on top of the mug if they think the ice cream will float or at the bottom of the mug if they think the ice cream will sink. Make a root beer float to see if your prediction is true.

I put this in my students' take-home folders so they always have them.
