Expressing Numbers with a Three Part Math Lesson
This whiteboard activity is open ended and ideal for grades 2 through 5. It is meant to be delivered at the beginning of a Number Sense Unit to assertain the background level of students. Teaching style
I enjoy open ended Math Activities that allow multiple entry points. I use the Smart Board Software for both my Introduction lessons and for Centres. I utilize the Three Part Lesson: Getting Started, Working On It and Consolidation. I start with students working in groups to share ideas and concepts. I finish with Exit Tickets to check for individual understanding. Students love this style of learning and respond very positively!!
