This is a hands-on oil spill lab where students test three different cleanup methods....skimming, absorption, and using dish soap...to determine which is most effective. They make a hypothesis, collect and compare data, reflect on environmental impacts, and write a short summary of their results and conclusions.
This is a one-class-period GMO choice board project where students pick a specific GMO product, research it, and show their understanding through a creative format like a poster, comic, or social media page. Their project must explain what the GMO is, why it was created, along with one benefit, one risk, and any ethical concerns. Rubric is attached as well.
Students will use different conservation methods to clean up a simulated oil spill. This is a great hands on activity, that allows students to weight the costs and benefits of conservation efforts.
Students have to chose a class of fish to complete a PowerPoint presentation over. Students are expected to present. Instructions and rubric are included.
