COMMON CORE GEOMETRY ACTIVITY FOCUSING ON AREA
This activity focuses on area. It is very interactive and doesn't need any materials (besides a white board or chalk board)
This activity consists of the students figuring out different ways a four sided figure could look with the same area.
This supports the common core and all 8 of the mathematical practices.

Experience
Hello everyone! I have been teaching for several years now. Currently, I am a 6th grade teacher.
Teaching style
My teaching style consists of the students being actively engaged regularly. There are so many children (and adults) that do not like math for their own reasons. My goal every year is to change that by making math fun. I do this by having students work in groups, be involved in class discussions, work with technology, and by constantly creating new activities (which I have now decided to start sharing with all of you).
