I was honored to receive the Teacher Excellence Endowment, an award recognizing dedication, passion, openness, and a strong commitment to professional growth. I was also proud to serve as Math Department Chair, a role that allowed me to support curriculum development and instructional planning beyond my own classroom.
Some of my most meaningful moments as a teacher came through student feedback. Students frequently shared that my classes helped them feel more confident in math, even when it wasn’t their favorite subject, and that they appreciated the balance of organization, humor, and support in the classroom. In AP Statistics, students consistently reported feeling prepared on exam day, and enrollment in the course grew due to its reputation. My AP Statistics classes achieved an 85% pass rate, with a strong majority (73%) of students earning a 5. I also built each of my courses from the ground up, designing curriculum, pacing, and assessments to support both engagement and understanding.
