Teaching style

Singing makes learning fun, fast and easy! The joy of learning is a lifelong gift and I approach each teaching moment with a song and a smile!

Awards & shining teacher moments

My 4 year olds who sing all the presidents in order, my kindergarteners who sing the entire Periodic Table of the Elements by memory and my 1st graders who can sing the Bill of Rights are my shining stars! My life invested in others is my greatest achievement. Let me share this approach with you and multiply the excitement of learning about the world around us! The author of the world's largest collection of educational songs, I have over 30 years experience in a myriad of classroom settings. In 1998 I founded the Virginia Beach School of the Arts and later the Jacksonville School of the Arts. I have been honored to established multiple music programs in charter schools and homeschool enrichment centers and have taught generations to sing everything from the Periodic Table in its entirety to US history, all the countries in the world and more. Your success is my honor!

My own education history

An honor graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory, I majored in classical piano, minored in jazz and loved every minute of it! I'm always reading, learning, doing and sharing ... and composing!

Additional biographical information

I am happiest teaching preschoolers to sing songs about nature, famous places, the periodic table of the elements and how to play the piano. With a grateful heart, I reside in sunny Florida with the love of my life, Daniel, and enjoy a home filled with family, friends, good cooking and great music!
