I began teaching one year of Emotional/Behavioral Disorder students iin 2002, Gifted/Talented students for three years, and Multi-categorical (LD, BD, and MMI) for 18 years, for a total of 22 years of experience. I have been nominated on a couple of occasions for Teacher of the Year. I have participated in all staff events, including holding positions in various committees including PBIS, and secretary for Faculty Senate.

Readers Theater Script The Gingerbread Man
The Gingerbread Man is an American fairy tale best known for teaching young children about not trusting everyone you meet. It is a wonderful tale that fits in to the holiday season. This Readers Theater format helps promote collaboration in small group and allows for reading fluency practice and comprehension. There are eight roles with differentiated reading levels that can be assigned appropriately. Repeated readings are recommended. Enjoy!

Readers Theater Script for Reading Fluency Grades 3-5
Readers Theater is an interactive way of building reading fluency, reading comprehension and self-confidence. This script is an adapted version of "The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything" by Linda Williams. The 11 parts include 4 Narrator roles, and 7 characters. Parts can be assigned according to reading level ability. This script can be used in Grades 3-5.

This resource is great for beginning of the year assessing of letter identification and beginning sounds. Teaching style
22 years as a Special Educator: Multi-categorical Disabilities. My teaching style would be described as very individualized, a tendency to cater to the weaknesses of a student, and yet provide opportunities for strengths. A passion for the person. A passion for the child.

My own education history
I worked as a Substitute Teacher for three years before obtaining my Masters Degree in Multi-categorical Disabilities from West Virginia University in 2005.
I have a degree from Keuka College, 1978 in a student initiated major, Theatre Production/Acting. I used this degree by teaching Creative Dramatics in the elementary schools local to me, and by participating in regional theatrical productions through acting and stage management. I have written, produced and directed local productions near my hometown.
Additional biographical information
I worked for ten years as a Graphic Artist for L.M. Berry and Co, the publishers of the Yellow Pages Phone Books, before technology took over.
I am the mother of three daughters who have excelled in their own rights as solid individuals, unique and wonderful.
