The object of the game is to fill up your game board with cards. They turn the cards over face down and take turns turning them over. If they are able to name the letter/sound/number/etc., they may keep their card. If they can't, it goes back in their pile. If they draw a Vroom, Vroom! card, they may remove a card from the other player's board. I love this game because you can differentiate for each child. You can have one group working on letters/sounds/numbers, while the other group is working
My 3rd graders are currently working on understanding the 4 types of sentences (Declarative, Interrogative, Imperative, and Exclamatory). I created this to help make it more fun. Editing is something that children must master and be accustomed to. Being able to write correctly is crucial. These quick practice pages have proven to be a great asset to our learning. We use this in several different ways. Some ideas include: morning work, early finisher assignments, homework, and warm ups, just to name a few. Some are longer than others. We are beginning our space unit in the coming weeks and I created this to place in our literacy and/or math center. This is a game to help your little ones with letter/sound fluency, number recognition up to 20, CVC words, and sight words.
