This packet includes vocabulary for each of the 13 chapters in Esperanza Rising. It has classwork, where students will read the chapter, find the words(using the page numbers listed on the organizer), write the sentence and predict the definitions. This is a template for a noise check system that I use in my classroom. When you purchase, you will print out each page and laminate them. I used colored ribbon and hot glued each circle on the ribbon underneath the 'Noise Check' sign. I then use a clothespin and pin the circle that shows the appropriate volume my classroom should be at. If the pin is on "shh.. I had my students read the chapter and find the words. They used their context clues to predict the defintion, and their homework was to find out the real definition. My students really enjoyed it!
