About the store
I have been teaching Robotics to elementary and middle school students for 10 years. It started out with the Lego NXT systems, then we upgraded to EV3 and now we use Spike Prime. We used anything from desktop computers, laptops, iPads, Kindle Fires and Android tablets. As self-funded an afterschool activity we use whatever equipment that becomes available to us and we figure out how to make it work. I coached school FLL Teams during the season and host workshops during the offseason. I also hold robotics workshops for summer camps, girl scout troops and other schools that want to introduce robotics to their students. I have a lot of experience creating programs for 2 hour workshop, a 5 day camps or a year round after school program and anything in between.

Experience

I have been teaching Robotics to elementary and middle school students for 10 years. It started out with the Lego NXT systems, then we upgraded to EV3 and now we use Spike Prime. We used anything from desktop computers, laptops, iPads, Kindle Fires and Android tablets. As self-funded an afterschool activity we use whatever equipment that becomes available to us and we figure out how to make it work. I coached school FLL Teams during the season and host workshops during the offseason. Teaching style

In my robotics classes, we not only learn to accept failures but we actually celebrate them. Students’ programs are expected to fail the first few times and their builds are expected to fall apart many times. We identify our mistake, make improvements and try again over and over again. We see mistakes as necessary steps to learn and not obstacles. We learn to expect them, welcome them, learn from them and sometime even laugh at them all in the spirit of learning and having fun.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Students enjoy robotics class, gain confidence and always want to come back. That is the honor that I am most proud of.
