Teaching style

Research-informed, culturally responsive, and literature-based. I use bilingual picture books as scaffolds for both language development and emotional literacy, with practical strategies families and educators can implement immediately.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Took my bilingual children's book from zero Amazon sales to #1 bestseller in 8 weeks. Presenting at The Language Show 2025 on "Teaching Languages Through Bilingual Picture Books" and at the SWS Vienna Art & Science Conference on bilingual literacy and cultural sustainability. Creating the "Anya and a Thousand Fish" series now available in 55+ language pairs, reaching bilingual families worldwide. Watching students and families reconnect with their heritage languages through stories designed to honor both their languages and identities.

My own education history

Additional biographical information

I live in Amsterdam with my husband and daughter, raising our child in a multilingual environment (Russian, English, Dutch, Estonian). This personal journey through multilingual parenting deeply informs my work. I'm passionate about the intersection of AI and bilingual education, and the urgent need to support heritage language preservation. Research shows 80% of families lose their heritage language by the third generation, and I create resources to help families break that cycle. My work translates complex bilingual education research into accessible, practical tools that honor both languages and cultural identities.
