Teaching style

I subscribe to a flipped/blended teaching style. My personal teaching style is high energy, positive attitude and genuine excitement for the opportunity to work with each individual student. I make a conscious effort each day to avoid sitting at my desk. If I need to sit down I will sit in a student desk. I want my students to know that I do not think of myself as being above them. I want them to feel as though the school year is a journey that we all make together. I simply suggest the direction that we should travel and let them determine the pace; my students drive the lesson plans making each school year a unique trip. My personal mantra is that if a substitute could deliver my lesson then it is not a good lesson. I believe that each year should be treated as a new school year since no student ever got excited about a repeat assignment. By building a trust and mutual respect for the student/teacher relationship first, we are able to come together as a team and focus on the content second.
