About the store
Our reading guides are a no-prep solution for comprehension and differentiation to meet the need for student accountability while still keeping the joy in reading! Each task and question in our novel studies is CCSS aligned and purposeful. Gone are surface level comprehension questions, endless vocabulary lists, busy work, and never-ending summary tasks. Instead, give your students a reading guide that will encourage their natural love for reading and give you rigorous, standard aligned, assessable tasks. Meaningful tasks for all students. These materials are ideal for whole class novel studies, individual book reports, literature circles or reading group work. The best part is that you don't need to assign all the tasks within the guide. Choose what you want to use and lose the rest! Instructor/Grader/TA/Supervisor Utah State Univ/ Weber State Univ. Teaching style

Education is constantly evolving. As such, one’s teaching philosophy should also constantly evolve. Effective educators must never accept that they have arrived at the “perfect model”. That being said, there are a few concepts that I consider fundamental to my philosophy of teaching. First, as the authority on key skills and competencies, the role of a teacher is to facilitate learning experiences and provide support and feedback to guide student learning. Second, the student should direct their own learning in authentic, personalized scenarios in which they are given the structure to take ownership of their own education.  Third, teachers should provide cross- curricular opportunities where students learn to collaborate, communicate, and reflect. Above all, students should be taught to analyze, interpret, and apply information. Doing so will provide students with the skills they need to interpret the world around them and make decisions for its betterment.
