Experience

I create meaningful, ready-to-use resources for middle school teachers—especially those teaching ELA. From engaging reading and writing lessons to tools for building classroom community, everything here is designed to help students connect and grow, while saving you time. Whether you're a new teacher or a seasoned one looking to refresh your toolkit, I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve been teaching middle school for over 25 years, with all of that time focused on 7th and 8th grade English Language Arts. Along the way, I’ve mentored new teachers, led curriculum teams, and helped support schoolwide initiatives around literacy, social-emotional learning, and student voice. I understand what works—and what’s actually doable in a real classroom.

Teaching style

My teaching style is relationship-centered, flexible, and built on trust. I believe in giving students structure and voice, using tools like interactive notebooks, discussion-based lessons, creative writing, and real-world connections. I love finding ways to blend standards with student interests so learning feels meaningful and authentic.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my proudest moments come from student notes, hugs from families, and watching kids who once hated reading fall in love with books. I’ve been recognized for leadership in schoolwide literacy initiatives, and I was honored with a teacher appreciation award for creating a safe, inclusive classroom environment. But honestly, the real wins are the day-to-day breakthroughs with students.

My own education history

I earned my teaching degree from a state university and then went on to earn my master's in Literacy. I continue to pursue professional development focused on literacy, trauma-informed practices, and student engagement. I’m always learning—because growing as an educator never stops.

Additional biographical information

Outside of the classroom, I’m a proud mom, a dog lover, and a fan of traveling to new places. I believe teachers are lifelong learners and community builders—and I hope my resources help make your teaching journey just a little easier and a lot more joyful.
