I taught 1st grade for three years at a Catholic school. I moved back to my home town and worked as a CNA in a retirement home for four years. I truly enjoyed working with the elderly, but I missed my true passion, teaching. I began teaching pre kindergarten in 2007 and have been at the same school since, loving every minute.

Barton Based Letter Mats-Book 2 Lessons
These work mats can be used when teaching Barton Book 2 lessons. The first mat consists only of the first six letters taught and each additional mat adds on the new letters being taught. I always found it useful to slip it into a sleeve protector or laminate them. Tell me what you think, I would love feedback on my product!

This is an editable behavior chart that allows you to customize your students' behaviors rather easily. It is a 7x8 table that the days of the week are listed at the top of each column while the lead cell in the the row is an empty box that you can type in the target behavior or behaviors that you are working on that day/week. The eighth row is left blank for comments and/or signatures.

Teaching style
I prefer a warm and welcoming, educationally strong child centered classroom. Children not only need to learn how to add and subtract, they also need to learn how to be a productive member of society who is capable of taking care of themselves. We are responsible for teaching them that the key to good communication is LISTENING not talking. I have been in classrooms where the students are unable to listen to and follow simple directions because they are lacking the ability.
