This is a set of 6 problems and are intended for practicing rates problems like the ones on the AP test. Each problem has 4 parts asking questions about accumulating rates. They can be used to supplement the text, to use in groups in class, take home practice or as problems for an assessment. Also included is page of questions on understanding what rates questions are asking in general. These help students to think about what is being asked without the burden of equations. I use these in my clas
This project gives students a chance to experience first hand how approximating areas under a curve can give you a value that is useful in the real world. It also gives them something to refer back to when you are discussing rates.
Practice parallel lines with transversals using these fun puzzles. 6 pages. Some have angle measures and some have algebra expressions. Process for students to solve most puzzles. 1. Find angle relationships and write algebra equations. 2. Solve algebra equations to then find the measure of angles. 3. Use angle measures to determine which lines are parallel. 4. Use the parallel lines you found to write new equations and find other angles. Problems have a range of complexity allowing students t
