Decimals and Percents are part of a whole. This is a set of slides that introduce the connection between fractions- decimals and percents. There is a quick math feature at the end to have student practice reading decimal numbers- it could be used for choral reading or as visuals for students to record the number.
These slides help students learn about and use the clock model to understand multiplication and fractions. They will skip count, divide, think of fractions and find the factors of 60 leading to the clock connection. They are intented to stimulate conversation and "math talk".
