Keep parents up-to-date with this weekly progress report. There will never be any surprises at report card time! This report is stapled into each child's agenda every week. The teacher fills out their grades on Monday. Let parents know if you received their homework. We have a green/yellow/red card system in our room for behavior, so students fill out their "color" for the day too. The parents in my classroom are so appreciative to be updated on their child's progress regularly.

Students write a haiku poem for homework. My students get a poetry homework assignment each week. They cut their papers in half and glue them into their poetry notebook. Homework questions guide students how to write a haiku. Students also work on fluency by reading their poem to three different people.
