About the store
I am in my Student Teaching semester in the College of Education at UNC Charlotte, majoring in Middle Grades Education with concentration areas in Science and English/Language Arts Communications for 6th – 9th grade. I also have a minor in Children’s Literature and Childhood Studies. Currently, I am completing my Student Teaching Internship at a wonderful middle school in a nearby county and love my 6th graders! After taking one last class over the summer, I will finally be licensed and have my own classroom – I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!

Missing Assignments Notification Slip - Mrs. Manley

Created by

I created these 3"x5" "Missing School Work" slips in an effort to notify students of any assignments they haven't submitted. Each of these allows for customization and requires a Parent Signature - this way, I know that the parents are in-the-loop. I also make copies of the slip after filling it out for a student and I keep the copy in their student folder for any future reference. I hope you find it helpful!

Teaching style

I would have to say that I am certainly more on the side of an authoritative teacher. I rely heavily on teaching style questionnaires and frequently ask my students how they feel they learn best. I also like to include them in the flow of the classroom – meaning, I not only strive to make my classroom environment suitable for active movement, but that I ask for their feedback on the ways I deliver the content, etc. I feel that it is not only my classroom, but that it is also my students’ as well – I want them to feel comfortable, safe, and included in my classroom dynamics, otherwise it simply becomes a power struggle and without an established relationship, they will not learn – and most importantly, they will not WANT to learn.
