A follow up activity to author Arree Chung's book, Mixed A Colorful Story. Students practice mixing their primary colors, to then make secondary ones through the use of fun characters from the story.

This is an art lesson created with Google Slides where students will create a jungle/rainforest themed artwork just like artist Henri Rousseau. A one class activity to assess rainbow order with students. Can tie in the story, How The Crayons Saved The Rainbow by Monica Sweeney (many options in digital format/read alouds). An easy worksheet for students to practice their color mixing. Students first apply the primary colors to the lady bug wings. They then need to color the body of the lady bug with the secondary color that the two primary colors would make. Students can use any coloring utensil, and could mix their own secondary colors if using paint.

Requires some scissors, and coloring utensils (and if desired one piece of tape). Students cut out pieces, color them, and assemble their own turkey.
