These are clever signs I printed on cardstock and had laminated to hang around the classroom. Just simple rules every class should follow with reasons why. They are gradient light to dark blue, but I left it as a word doc so you can change them to your school colors!
Students should be given an opportunity to learn about matter in multiple ways, they should also be assessed in multiple ways to include an accurate gauge of their comprehension.
This visual, linguistic and kinesthetic opportunity allows students to prove their content knowledge through various activities.
**Note the multiple choice test was provided by the VA SOL guidelines, although could be replaced with the Matter Quiz also on my page free**
This is a smartboard slideshow of the First Americans of the US including the Pueblo, Lakota and Powhatan as required by VA SOLS for 2nd Grade Social Studies.
While I've listed the SmartDoc as a freebie, be sure to check out the MATCHING SORT which can be used as a review or resource during your First Americans Unit!
Use as a weekly rotation or an extension activity...these games and activities increase in difficulty, are arranged for independent, partner and group work and relate mainly to Number Sense on a 2nd-4th Grade level of understanding!
If you work in VA and need to display the SOLS for certain units, here is a unit guide breakdown based on the state's requirements, specifically to the breakdown of Prince William County. Use it as a display, or a modeled pacing guide.
Students learn multiple areas of probability, why not test them in multiple areas?
Focusing on tree diagrams, independent vs dependent events and sample spaces/probability of events - this varied assessment aims towards visual and kinesthetic learners.
