A WebQuest to introduce the novel Number the Stars by Lois Lowry.

This test covers areas including physical geography, prehistoric Greece, reformers, types of government, Greek philosophers, Persian War, Peloponnesian War, etc. Answers are highlighted in the preview of the answer key.

Cover page, comprehension questions for the entire novel, vocabulary for the novel, definitions for each vocabulary word, an Alcatraz WebQuest, and vocabulary quizzes/open-ended question(s).

Students answer these questions (literal, inferential, opinion) while reading Maniac Magee. Students are required to use the RACE reading strategy to cite evidence from the text for certain questions.

The students pretend as if they're interviewing Edward Tulane. Questions are posed, and the students write an answer from Edward's point of view.

This packet includes background information regarding location of Afghanistan on a map, information about clothing worn by the people of this culture, a page to take notes on characters, and a page to document vocabulary,

A visual guide for students to assist with metric conversions by either multiplying or dividing by powers of 10.

Vocabulary words are chunked to assist students with learning disabilities. Also included are open-ended questions at the end of each quiz.

Students navigate through chosen websites to answer questions about parts of a flower and functions of those parts.

The students will become an "expert" on one of Earth's biomes. They will work in groups to create a PowerPoint presentation of their findings.

After reading the novel, the students will summarize main ideas and events by creating an ABC childrens' book.

Students complete three vocabulary quizzes for the novel. Each quiz includes 2-3 open-ended questions.

The students will research a culture of choice and create a restaurant skit including: 1. A restaurant sign 2. A menu for the restaurant 3. Greetings (in the appropriate language) 4. Restaurant set up/props 5. Appropriate attire for servers, waiters, dinner guests, etc.

This packet includes background information including the location of India on a map, clothing worn by people in India, a page to document character information, and two pages to document Indian vocabulary.

Jeopardy game to review for a chapter test

As students read the novel, they keep track of vocabulary words and each word's part of speech. Quizzes and adapted quizzes are also available.

Use this note-taking sheet along with "The Greedy Triangle" picture book to teach polygons.

The students will write a "recipe" including foods they eat and typical Thanksgiving activities they enjoy with family. Students are required to use measurement words within their creative writing. *Rubric included*
