About the store
I have been teaching since 1996. When I first started teaching, I taught 6th grade and all subjects. After 13 years in 6th, I moved to 7th and taught Math and American History. That was for 6 years. For the past 10 years I have taught 6th grade math. In year 30, I am the Math Problem Solving/STEM teacher for grades K-8. I get to work with all students doing creative activities and projects. I have always wanted to be a teacher. When I was little, I used to play "school" all the time. I would make up tests and write on the little chalkboard my parents bought me. I used to get excited when my teachers gave away their old teacher editions. They would become my books when I played "school".

"Integers Are No Monkey Business"- Integer Bulletin Board with Bonus Task Cards

When it comes to math, I don't "monkey" around and neither does this bulletin board set! The title of this set is "Integers Are No Monkey Business" and is appropriately themed using a jungle background and monkey graphics. I use this bulletin board in my classroom when I teach the unit on Integers. I use these cards and a cheetah print border. My students think it's pretty cool! The set consists of pages for: * Large sized words- Integers Are No Monkey Business * Defining integers * Compari

The Central Tendencies- Finding the Mean, Median, Mode, and Range Presentation

This Google Slide presentation is a great resource to use as part of your lesson on the central tendencies. It provides a clear description of each tendency, how to find it, an example, and practice. The students interact with you during the lesson by solving the practice problems after each tendency, during a partner share, and at the end in a team practice. That way they are not just sitting there "listening" to your lesson. I've used this PowerPoint with my class, and it has been proven to be

Decimal Jeopardy

In my classroom, before a big test, I like to use various types of review games. One of the games that my students like to play is Jeopardy. When I play the game with them, it's usually girls against boys. The competition is great! I created this Jeopardy game to go along with one of my chapters on Decimal operations. The game contains 5 categories (ordering decimals, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals) and 2 Daily Doubles. Answer appears on the same slide as question (just

Teaching style

I believe that you are born to be a teacher. It is not a job that anyone or everyone can do, despite what people think. It takes a certain person to give a large portion of their time to helping other people's children and shape them into able-bodied young adults. You have to be patient, understanding, kind, yet firm, and creative. You have to be willing to try new things because all children do not learn the same and every class you teach is not the same as the previous one. So teachers need to be able to adapt and most importantly, think on their feet. I find sometimes my best lessons or activities are those that I thought up instantaneously.
