This word game helps students blend short a CVC words using the body and coda method, in which vowel sounds are tied to the beginning consonants instead of the ending. For example: dr ip (onset-rime) dri p (body-coda) This would be a great game to introduce body-coda blending. Players take turns matching the body and coda of words and then write the words down in their word banks with a corresponding picture.
