I created this resource to help my struggling student with working memory issues. This student had a hard time holding on to sounds long enough to blend. I tried a variety of resources and this seemed to be the only one that stuck with her. The repeated reads were a HUGE game changer and by the end of the year she was a master CVC blender. S.O.S. (Simultaneous Oral Spelling) is a multi-sensory spelling strategy. This is an effective visual sequence for students who have trouble with working memory. Personally, with my 2nd grade special education students I use the first option. (without words) I laminate these and give each student a toy marker, as they complete each task they move the toy.
