It includes a reading passage and activities, a quiz, vocabulary puzzle sort (with pictures), task cards. The idea behind this passage was to really focus on vocabulary words. My students struggle with understanding matter is conserved, hopefully after practicing with the words in multiple ways they will have a better understanding. I use this assignment in my lab as an explore. I put out different liquids and allow my students to test the density in graduate cylinders. I may do the two ingredient with them as an example. You also could do the four step ingredients with them so that you are not wasting liquids. If I have already talked about density values with them, I would have the liquids labeled with the value so that they have a better chance of creating the tower and not wasting ingredients.
