No prep activity to help early elementary students understand and practice the commutative property of addition! All you need is dice and printed copies of the worksheet. Students will roll two dice, find the first sum, and then switch the order of the addends to demonstrate understanding of the commutative property. Fun for students, easy for teachers!
Students become the teachers in this long division practice activity. Students create their own division problem by rolling dice to fill in the divisor and dividend. Then, they solve the problems and explain their thinking along the way. This activity is available in 3-by-1 and 2-by-1 long division grids.
I designed these worksheets to warm students up to the basics of long division (starting with the greatest place value, putting the answer on top, and moving to the next place value), BEFORE considering the "multiply, subtract, bring down" parts of the process. This product is a bundle of my three long division resources: The Pre-Long Division Skills , Long Division Word Problems With Grid, and the Students Teach Long Division activity. Download them separately, or together to save! Remember to review!
This worksheet includes four long division word problems, each with a grid below the problem to guide students in their work. The file is downloadable as a word document, so you can change the names of the teacher/school to personalize it to your classroom!
I created this template to help students organize their research into subcategories. These are great if your students are researching a broad range of topics--they can be applied to almost any topic! Print them on colored paper to make them pop, then allow students to cut and paste them to their posters.
I designed this for my students to help organize their first drafts of their essays. This document guides students through drafted a 5 paragraph essay, by developing a thesis and breaking it down into reasons with evidence. After using this guide, students should be more prepared to write a final draft without the supports.
