"What do I do if...?" is the question that always comes up when students are learning new procedures and routines. If your classroom set up is anything like mine, we had students going from one classroom to another. While we tried to remain consistent across the grade level, there were some specific procedures and routines to our own space that sometimes students would forget or get confused about. I made this resource for my own students as a way for them to always have a place to look for wha

FREEBIE!! I created this for my students as a way to remember the steps to division. We learned both the Short division process and the Long division steps. So this bookmark was created as a way to trigger the steps for my students as they were working problems. I printed them out and laminated them so that my students could actually check off the steps as they go with a dry erase marker. Then they could re-use it for every problem. My students loved using these and some actually checked off as

Back to School! Meet The Teacher! Summer Surprise Mail! These postcards are such a great way to add an element of surprise and fun to announcing student's new teachers for the school year! We printed these off with our district print shop and then wrote in who the student's teacher was in the spot where the scratch off sticker goes. Then we popped on a scratch off sticker (get those from Amazon or sometimes in the Target dollar spot!) and addressed them. We even put a little label on there with

4th Grade Math Essential Questions Cards (TEKS aligned) I was on the hunt for some cards I could use to display the essential questions I want each of my students to be able to answer for each learning target covered by the 4th grade Math TEKS. I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I made my own! Each card displays a collection of overarching questions for the standard covered. The card also references the standard the essential questions relate to. I plan to use these cards in my classroo

It's the end of the year and all.the.things are happening! It can be such a crazy time of year, but one thing that doesn't have to be crazy is awards! Or at the least, it can be crazy fun with this set! The Kids' Choice awards are meant to be more like your funny, end of the year party kind of awards, but you could easily modify them or use them as your official end of the year awards as well. Students vote for the classmate they think best exemplifies each of the awards. They vote for each cl

I created this poster to use in my own classroom to make it easy to manage where my students are throughout the day and provide my students with an opportunity to manage restroom breaks themselves. I set the expectations about when students can use the restroom (not during direct instruction, etc.) and then make sure they understand that only 2 people can go to the restroom at one time (or whatever your specific policy is). Students move their marker to the restroom spot when they leave and retu

A simple and easy to use station rotations presentation that you can either use as is with editable boxes for your rotations or you can use the blank slides to create your own for specific subjects. Add in text boxes to use for the name of the station and the group going to that station for that day. This is set up to allow for 2 rotations per day, but you could further divide it out to fit your needs. I typically do 2 rotations of 15-20 minutes each so I can see two small groups while my other

Teaching style

I believe that teachers should make learning accessible in a variety of ways for what works best for their students. Build relationships is always my first goal. Meeting students where they are is my next. Meeting educational goals looks different for each student and I strive to advocate for the needs of each student individually. Education should be fun and engaging while offering students a wide variety of ways to demonstrate their mastery and dig deeper into their own understanding.

I am a mom to 5 beautiful children and a teacher to "my other kids" in 4th grade! My husband is also a teacher/coach for 7th and 8th grade. We both come from a long line of teachers or healers and love what we do! In addition to the children, we have 2 dogs, 1 cat and 3 guinea pigs - because what fun is life without a circus?!?
