I've been teaching for 9 years at a Title 1 school in Denton, Texas. For the past 7 years I've had the honor and challenge of being a part of our school's adventure of becoming the first (and currently only) IB PYP elementary in Denton. Although it's never been an easy road to cover as a teacher, I love the IB way of teaching through inquiry. I'm not an expert - I am a learner through and through! I will try and error and try again every time I can!

Group Work Rubric (using IB profiles)
I believe students should always have an opportunity to evaluate and reflect on their work. This includes academic work, but takes it to their work in groups and teams as well. Reflection can come from the perspective of one self, from their peers, and from the teacher.
This rubric allows students to reflect and give constructive feedback to their peers after working together on a group project over and extended period of time. Using the IB profile and attitudes students are able to rate the

Teaching style
My classroom runs on the inquiry method. My students have a lot of responsibiltiy of their own in their day to day happenings, and a lot of choice, I'm there as a coach, facilitator and guide while they learn.
