This assignment is something that, when I see former students, they still bring up. Yes, we plan a funeral for Bad Grammar. The kids dress up, I wear a black veil, hat, gloves–the whole thing. I receive a lot of looks, but it is worth it. We parade around the school with a cart with the grammar book on top of it. It is ridiculous but so much fun. After the funeral, I noticed the students were quick to point out grammar mistakes. We plan an after party with snacks. We make remembrance cards with

Part OneWe research the Innocence Project site, and each student picks a case to focus on. They answer the questions about the person exonerated and includes a picture of the exonerated in the report. Part TwoWe then research real life cases of those that were innocent, but executed. The students find a case and answer questions detailing what went wrong. We t
30 Year Teacher--this assignment has been tweaked over the years to work as a writing assignment or an online presentation, and everything in between. This is a great way to wrap up The Odyssey. Students will fill in the gaps. It turns out Odysseus didn't tell us everything that happened in those 20 years. You will now add to the epic tale. This is a paragraph by paragraph explanation of how to organize your writing. I also have students add art work to match the new story. Some students choos
