About the store

I was a Junior High, 7-8, Social Studies teacher in a k-12 district for 38 years. I also planned and presented at our district wide staff development for our 1,250 teachers. I also presented Living History and Kahoot! at weekend teaching conferences. In 2015, Kahoot! Co-Founder and CEO Johan Brand visited my classroom, and I introduced my classes to him. We played a Kahoot! in class and he stayed for lunch. A few days later on May 8, we set the world record for most users on a single Kahoot! I have photos which I can send to you.

Living History Day Memory Exercise

This is an all year Living History Day project designed for 7-8 students, but it could be easily adapted for all grade levels. This thumbnail gives you an idea of ONE of the project's assignments which are due at different parts in the year. This assignment was used after we listened to student speeches on Living History Day. I knew who was going to speak, so it was easy to prep it in a few minutes. This assignment, however, changes every year depending on what students give speeches that day

My teaching style depends on what we're doing in class that period. Some days, I'm the typical teacher, guiding students through activities and discussions, while other days, I'm the facilitator and deliverer of information and activities. Additionally, typical teacher delegator on some days to allow students to learn independently or work in group settings
