Every year over Christmas break I send this packet home with each student for them to use and practice over our holiday break.
I put all this in a ziploc bag and I also send home their pencils and crayons from the past few weeks because we get new supplies in January. Many of my students do not have those supplies at home to use.
The only things not included in this packet are a copy of an alphabet chart (send home the particular one that your school uses) and blank pieces of paper for writin
Use this story map to identify the setting, characters, and the sequence of events for any gingerbread story (Gingerbread Man, Gingerbread Boy, Gingerbread Girl, Gingerbread Friends, etc.).
Now you can organize your classroom library and save on colored ink. These labels are streamlined and printer friendly!
Labels include #1-30, A-Z, and specific categories (mammals, space, Eric Carle, Magic Tree House, etc)

Use these activities in your literacy centers/stations or in your word work. Students will be using the letters in common Christmas words to create other words.
You can make individual copies for each student to complete independently or they can work with a partner.
However, I use sheet protectors to save on paper. Just slip a copy of each page in a protector and have the students use a dry erase marker to fill out.
Use during literacy stations, word work, or as whole group activity. The students will record words from around the classroom for each letter.
This helps your students become familiar with your word wall, anchor charts, posters, and other resources within your room.
To differentiate for your higher learners, have the students choose 3 words or more and write a story incorporating those words written down.
If your students are struggling on sight words, this is a great tool to help reinforce and improve their sight word knowledge. My class calls sight words, "heart words"....because you have to know these words by heart!
2 Activities:
Sight Word Bingo: whole-group review of different sight words from Fry’s 2nd and 3rd 100 words
Read it, Write it, & Use it in a Sentence: Use in literacy centers or during word work. Students will choose a card with a high frequency word and read it, then write in
