Biddy Budget- Elementary Economics
This is an economics activity geared toward grades 3-5. In this mini project, students will create a monthly budget using teacher created resources. They will learn about "must-haves" such as a house and groceries, and "extras" such as video streaming services and gym memberships. Watch your students go from making extravagant choices to reasonable choices as they work out their budgets!

Teaching style
I like to teach through projects and interactive journaling. In my experience, my students retain more information when they are moving and doing as opposed to sitting and getting. My students are required to collaborate with each other in some way daily because I believe that is an important 21st Century skill that many of our students are lacking. With all of that being said, I do believe there is still a place for a solid worksheet from time to time, but always in moderation!
