About the store
This is my fifth year teaching students with autism at a separate public day school. My students are profoundly impacted by their autism, but with an environment engineered for structured, systematic learning they succeed. It is amazing to see their progress and wonderful to make connections with the students and their families. I am so excited to share these beginning learning activities and hope they work as accommodations, maintenance, or the next step in learning.

Bathroom Chart/Daily Living Skills Documentation

Hi everyone! This is the bathroom chart I post on the door to the bathroom in our classroom. It has three functions: 1) it helps document student progress on voiding (urinating in the bathroom) and their progress toward potty training 2) it can document patterns of when students typically need to use the restroom so you can help them get to the bathroom in time and 3) it ensures that staff are accountable for taking students to the bathroom every 30-60 minutes. If you are someone that

Included are two forms that include 10 sentences with 3 directions (the first mastery for Q16) and two forms with 20 sentences with 6 directions. There are two forms for each mastery so students are following the directions instead of memorizing the answers (students with autism have awesome visual memory!) I created these SmartBoard Activities for one of my third grade students with autism. The activities touch on VAAP assessments including: sorting words into familiar categories, number identification, coin & value identification. There is also an activity for the frog life cycle, which was once a third grade VAAP goal. This year the goals have changed, but it still aligns to grade level SOLs. Product includes a guide on how to use these resources.

Token Board/Behavioral Intervention

This is one of my favorite token boards! It is a behavioral intervention for students that generally do their work at their desk, but also engage in undesired behaviors during work. Using a time-interval system, students work for a short amount of time WITHOUT behaviors to receive a reinforcer. As the student progresses, the amount of time increases. I had a student that yelled throughout her work sessions for two weeks straight. After using this token board she works quietly for 25 minute

Here is the ABLLS template I use to take data. It has everything you need to know about the current target, including what the goal is, the objective, and the qualifications for mastery. It also has a place for initials and percentage to ensure that this skill is generalized across instructors. Copy and paste the table to add more pages/targets :)

This is put at the front of every student's binder to track the services students receive. This is helpful to document that students are receiving all the therapeutic services listed in their IEP (speech/OT/dance/music etc.) and to make sure that students receive direct services in accordance with their IEP. This is especially helpful to have a record when therapists are unable to come during scheduled therapy times so they can meet the required amount of therapy as noted in the IEP.

This is a great product for students with autism that can't communicate what they want or enjoy. I provide these to parents at Open House to get to know my students a little bit before the first day of school. This reinforcer brainstorm helps me know how to motivate students to participate in lessons, as well as possible behavioral triggers and medical concerns. I put these at the front of every student's binder :)
