This is a lesson plan for a very common way of proving The Pythagorean Theorem. This can be used as an enrichment activity for a Geometry class.

This is a great inquiry-guided activity to do with Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1 students. This guided worksheet gives students the opportunity to recognize patterns and then create equations using those patterns.

These are notes that I gave the students to help follow along during the Area of Circles and Sectors portion of the Circle unit. We first went over area of the entire circle and then I drew a diameter in the circle. I had students tell me why this was equal to 180 degrees and how I could find the area of the top half of the circle. I then used the information that they gave me to introduce the formula for finding the area of a sector of a circle.

Here is a BINGO game that can be played between your students that can help them learn a little about each other. You would give the students one of the three versions and they have to go around and find someone who does apply to the box, which they would then write that student's name in that box. They are trying to get five boxes filled in in a row to get a BINGO.

This is a great activity for the beginning of the year or semester! This BINGO game gives you an insight into your students and what may affect their learning and can help when differentiating your lessons. This game is played just like regular BINGO, where you would call out one of the boxes and they put a checkmark if that box applies to them. There are three different versions of the BINGO cards in this set.

This is a discovery based lesson on equations of circles. Students need to find similarities between the four circles at the top of the page. They use that information and information they should already know about circles (diameter, radius, area, circumference, center, etc) to create the formula for the equation of a circle. This takes a lot of on the spot thinking to guide students from what information they are picking up on from the four circles and guiding them into the right direction, but

This is a review activity for students learning about some of the key features on different types of graphs! I used this in Algebra 1 after teaching them domain, range, intervals of increase and decrease, minimums, maximums, and x- and y-intercepts. I give one per class each month with their favorite candy to help motivate my high school students! There are three on each page and each give a short description as to why they are receiving the award/certificate. There are eight different awards to help give out awards for different kids. Could be useful for middle school or high school!
