Experience

Teaching style

First and foremost, I have a passion for working with students and families regarding all things behavior, social emotional learning, trauma, and mental health. Social emotional learning is for everyone! I am an avid believer that children do well if they can - not if they want to. If a child is not doing well then the first thing I question is: are their needs being met? (Maslow before Bloom, always!!!!) This key to every success is relationships. Therefore, positive relationships with my students, staff, families, and colleagues are my TOP priority!

My own education history

B.S in Special and Elementary Education with a minor in Sociology - 2019 Currently working towards a master's in Special Education specializing in EBD

Additional biographical information

Fun Fact: That cute fluffy face in the profile picture is Chase. Chase is my service dog trained in seizure alert and glucose monitoring. Chase is also trained in ASD and Trauma response. Chase comes with me to school every day to keep me safe, but while he is there he's able to work with my students who struggle with PTSD, sensory issues, dysregulation, mental health problems, overstimulation, and so much more. Some might just say Chase is the most important staff member at our school. (:
